10 Types of Energy Healing
There is only one energy but many different ways to heal someone.
Energy is the life essence that makes up life, the force which creates life. It is also known as Qi, Ki, prana, life force, psi, etc.
Science is now starting to realize that the fundamental blocks that makes up reality are not atoms but vibrational patterns. These vibrations have motions that create life, that is what we call energy.
When our life becomes stressed, disturbed, and suffering prevails, we can call upon the essential life force to heal us and bring harmony in our life.
Healing comes in all forms with its distinct method and specific problems to heal.
Here are 10 types of energy healing and how it generally works.
The list goes from a progression of physical to mental to spiritual healing.
1. Hands-On Healing
This is the traditional healing method popular in Reiki and Jesus’s laying on the hands healing.
Our hands have chakras that emit heat.
When we place our hands on the area of another, energy flows from your own aura to another.
Basically, it’s an energetic exchange or sharing one’s energy.
Sometimes one can channel the energy in the air into our aura and then from our aura to the sufferer’s aura.
When the sufferer’s chakra is blocked or are not present, then you can exchange some of yours to them.
As the hands meet with the skin of the body, you can sense heat. Transferring energy will make this heat very hot and intense.
The blocked chakra, expressed as pain and tension, on the area will take the energy given and use it to replenish or fix its own chakra.
2. Massage Healing
Massage is not only relaxing muscles and joints, it is also a form of energetic healing. This also includes naturopathy and chiropractic practices.
Similar to Hands-On healing, the healer transfers their own energy into the sufferer through touch.
Our muscles and joints are like a bag of gel and marbles.
The soft muscles are the bag of gel and the blockages are the marbles.
Massage healing is effective in applying pressure on the blocked area.
When the blockage breaks physically – through the “pop” sound – the particles scatter.
This clearing of blockages allows energy to easily flow through.
Thus, there are 2 components to massage healing: the healer’s energy and breaking blockages.
After the healer breaks the blockages, he/she immediately transfers their own energy into that blocked area to improve healing.
3. Hands-Off Healing
While Hands-On healing touches the person, Hands-Off healing uses the hands at a distance.
It was popularly used in Mesmerism at the time or Qi Gong healing.
The hands, when placed at 6-8 inches away from the sufferer, creates a magnetic effect. It is not as intense as Hands-On healing but just enough to have a cooling or warm effect.
Usually used with finger strokes, palm and two hands at the side.
Hands-Off healing is especially useful for animals because animals are highly sensitive to energy and is usually safe to perform on others.
The hands not only have chakras that emit heat but it also extends to the fingertips and the palm. This creates a light heat like a thin beam of energy, which is especially useful to focus on a specific area.
However, Hands-Off healing is weak compared to Hands-On healing and will require a longer time to see results.
But it is necessary sometimes for specific blocked area or for people who can’t handle too much intensity (high intense energy will cause ab-reaction).
4. Presence Healing
Perhaps the easiest of all healing is presence healing because it requires nothing but your presence, also known as aura healing.
The majority of healing takes place before laying on the hands.
Our whole energy field emits energies naturally.
Anyone who comes into contact with you will receive that healing without you having to do anything.
Just your presence will make someone’s life happier, less sick, and feel better.
It does not matter if someone declines your healing offer, they will reap the benefits just by standing next to you.
We do so unconsciously when we gather with friends and family, give comfort to another, and express joy to oneself.
But you will never know a presence healer because the healer never openly reveals themselves as one, often times unaware of their own healing ability.
A presence healer must always be healthy and moral so that positive quality and healing energy continues to emit to others.
One negative intent or feeling will cause the presence to give disharmony instead of healing.
5. Frequency Healing
Sounds and light has been used for thousands of years in bringing positive experiences to the listener.
It could be in a form of calm music, specific frequency, monotone drums, and light therapy (including soaking up the sun).
They emit frequency that relaxes one’s mind and clears the mind.
By calming the mental stress and emotional state, we become still like in meditation.
Frequency waves reaches the mind and allow us to be better listeners to sound everyday.
When emotional imbalance acts out, it sends out disturbed waves.
But vibrational frequency healing can stop disturbed waves and bring oneself to a relaxing and calming vibrational waves.
Sound and light healing complements energy healing but by itself cannot perform as well as energy healing.
6. Communication Healing
Our voice resonates a healing energy.
Not all healing requires direct energy healing because most people have emotional suffering who needs someone to talk to.
A communication healer is like a “Talk Therapist” who uses words to send energy to the receiver.
How many times have a compassionate person makes you feel safe just by talking to him/her?
The words must be told in a compassionate and sensitive manner where the listener feels valued, listened to, and validated.
Such sense of safeness is a form of healing because it transmutes the disturbed thoughts of others into calming thoughts.
This is also seen where one reassures another.
The communication healer must be careful not to cause alarm for the listener.
If there is a need to speak an honest statement that can potentially hurt the listener, it should be told with tact and compassion.
They will feel the compassion before they hear the message.
7. Alter-Perception Healing
An Alter-Perception healing has its focus in changing your perception or how you see things.
You can find this in hypnosis, affirmation, visualization, NLP, or any techniques which emphasizes seeing a different way.
Most of the time, our suffering comes from perceiving a negative experience.
This perceived negative experience is so hard on the subconscious mind that the person finds difficulty in recovering emotionally.
Perhaps it can come from childhood, trauma, or some recent negative experience you don’t want to feel again.
The purpose of Alter-Perception healing is to ease the mind of a person and help them change their perception.
By changing one’s perception, we overcome negative perception and heal ourselves.
8. Telepathic Healing
While one must be present for Alter-Perception healing, telepathic healing can be done at a distance.
One can communicate from one consciousness to consciousness in a way to alter their perception and heal them.
There is no need to go under a hypnotic trance at all, it is direct subconscious to subconscious healing, communicating via energy.
The sufferer, with their permission, is in a receptive state of mind and the telepathic healer speak through them in his/her mind.
So there must be some kind of connection or rapport first before the telepathic healing can occur.
This is because each conscious being, at their core, is divine essence. This divine essence is in all of us.
In other words, someone else is a part of you and you can communicate to that part of yourself.
The telepathic healer must be advanced and focused so that no other random thoughts intrude upon the healing session.
9. Visualization Healing
Visualization healing is like the telepathic healing with the exception of using images and visuals.
There is no need for the receiver to come into contact with the healer, all that is needed is to send out the healing visually in meditation.
This works by teleporting our own energy from our consciousness to the receiver’s consciousness.
When we have the image of the person, we can send energy to the designated image.
The energy will find its way to the receiver and manifest in their whole body or heals the certain area that needed healing.
10. Spirit Healing
As the name implies, spirit healing is the shaman who travels into the spirit/astral world and finds a cure for the sufferer.
However, there are 2 forms of spirit healing.
1. Spirit traveling and then healing in the spirit/astral world
With altered state of consciousness, the healer goes into a trance and forces oneself into the spirit/astral world.
There is a great needed skill to navigate the suffering ailment in the sufferer’s spiritual life and find a way to heal it.
Either it is to return a spirit back home, clear a possessed spirit, or find a missing key relevant to the sufferer with the purpose to heal.
2. Conscious projecting oneself into the body of another and healing them
Under an altered state of consciousness, the healer will project his consciousness into the sufferer’s body.
In other words, you teleport your consciousness into another.
Thus, the healer becomes the sufferer himself/herself.
Through this way, the healer feels the pain and heals himself/herself. This results in healing the sufferer as well.
Then slowly the healer disconnects his/her consciousness and returns into his/her own body.
Such technique must be careful to cut the connections so that one does not take in the ailments of the sufferer.
Spirit healing is especially useful for removing any spirit attachments and finding problems in the sufferer’s body even when there can be no explanation for it. However, its effect is less certain than energy healing.
A Common Healing Factor
What all the healing modalities have in common is the effect of the healer.
It is rarely the technique that delivers healing, it is the interaction between the healer and the sufferer.
If the healer is sick – physically, mentally, or spiritually, then no healing will occur despite the very best healing technique.
Thus, the best form of healing is the one that is best suited to the healer.
We can categorize all the 10 types of energy healing to 3 main umbrellas:
- Physical healing
- Mental healing
- Spiritual healing
Some of us are more physical by nature and so are more physical energy healer while others are more of a mental healer.
Each of our unique problems cannot be solved in the same way but through the help of different modalities.
