Listening to your intuition is one thing, recognizing it is another.
The advice “just listen to your intuition” is as generic as telling you to “just be confident.”
We may understand it consciously, but in most cases we don’t know it subconsciously.
Knowing our intuition is valuable for our spiritual progress and our connection to our Higher Self.
The messages our intuition give us is up to our interpretation.
Unless we know how to recognize it, we will always ignore it.
Here are 5 of the most common ways your intuition is translating into your body from.
5 Ways to Recognize Your Intuition
1. Intuitive Feeling
Intuitive feelings is the most common form of intuition.
Yet, this form of intuition is the one that most people completely ignore.
What many don’t tell you is that the intuitive feeling is hard to listen to because we don’t fully understand what we are feeling.
It’s this feeling that’s so hard to describe.
It’s something that you just can’t quite put your finger on but you somehow know there IS something there.
When you have intuitive feelings, you may say to yourself:
- “It just doesn’t feel right”
- “I just know that I should do X”
- “I can’t really describe it”
If you know exactly what you are feeling, then it is not by intuition.
If you know that you are anxious, depressed, or excited, then those are your emotions and not your intuition.
Your intuition cannot be described easily.
When this happens, you are tapping into your intuitive ability.
It is scary to trust something you cannot see or know.
But that is exactly what we must do.
Trust the intuition like trusting a friend with a knife.
Take the leap and trust that it will guide you to the right path.
Even though you can’t exactly describe what you are feeling but you feel that what you are doing is the right thing, then go for it.
Because your intuition knows all there is to know.
2. Gut feeling, bad vibe or hunches
Gut feelings, bad vibe or hunches usually indicate some kind of danger.
It can also be an urge to do something.
Gut feelings manifests in strange feeling in the chest, stomach or solar plexus, usually a warming sensation.
Now don’t think that a gun pointed at your head means that your intuition is speaking to you.
When that happens, your instincts take over, not your intuition.
A true sign of an intuition in gut feeling, bad vibe or hunches is during a neutral situation.
For example, you are watching television awaiting for your friend to call you back.
Then there is a hunch that something is wrong.
Later that night after many hours of your friend not calling, you found out that he has food poisoning and have to rest in bed for the entire week.
Another example is a mother’s intuition on the safety of her child from faraway.
She somehow just know that something happened.
You are doing something totally unrelated and you picked up a hunch.
That is intuition.
A gut feeling should be acted upon.
A second missed is a second too late.
3. Symbolic Dreams
Symbolic Dreams give way to symbolic messages for us to understand.
Symbols are the basis of language and the origin of communication.
The highest form of communication is a meaningful picture.
As they say, “A picture is worth a thousand words.”
A story is a thousand pictures.
And dreams are a thousand stories.
If a dream is vivid, then it has significance.
If you somehow remember the dream often, then it has significance.
If a dream shows up more than once, then it is more likely a message you need to be aware of.
Your intuition will subconsciously point you to something fascinating.
You walk into a crowd of people and something made you turn around to a particular person as if this person was somehow significant.
You visit a friend who has a wooden leopard statue and you can’t shake the feeling that this particular object is connected to you in some way.
Or you’ve been contemplating a decision for the longest time until one day you sat down on the public bus station, reading a piece of a newspaper. You come across a quote and say “eureka!”
The more direct way of getting to you is to direct your attention to something.
5. Inner Voice
The inner voice is the most important part of intuition and the direct telepathic guidance you have with your Higher Self.
It is not logical. It won’t reason with you.
It only tells you where to go.
“HALT!”, says the intuition.
“This Way” or “Yes, Do It”, pointed intuition.
You are always free to listen to it or not.
The Inner Voice is quiet and neutral.
Always follow your inner voice and you can never go wrong.
The Voice of Intuition
We are all naturally intuitive.
The more we are connected, the better we are to read and interpret our intuition.
