How to Rise to Power in Society
In this physical world, there is a hierarchy of power in society.
Like a pyramid, some are at the bottom and few are at the top.
From the atoms to the human being, everything is organized in a hierarchical way.
Thus, to attain power is to play with the rules of society and win.
Now our spiritual life is different and has nothing to do with the rules and hierarchy of society.
But one cannot deny the power of society structure.
Once you know that there is a structure and its power roles, you are free to make your choice as a spiritual being.
Empower yourself by learning the hierarchy of society.
How Order is Created
Social animals have their own herds.
A hierarchy stands in the animal kingdom.
In a pack, there are always the wolves and the sheep.
If there is chaos, someone will lead and other will follow.
Apes have the most resemblance to humans than any other animals.
Unfortunately, we follow the rules of apes more subconsciously than we would have liked.
Order is created by rules.
And rules are only mental construct we come up with to make the chaos of society more…orderly.
This abstract idea has the potential to change how we think, believe, act, and behave.
The higher level communicates information and ideas to the lower levels.
This allows them to coordinate social behavior, information flow, and the types of actions you make based on what you know.
Everywhere you go, there is a small society with the alpha leader and their followers.
At the concert, it is the musician and their fans.
Gangs, friends and family are also formed the same way.
Each with their own little rules on the right way to act, do, believe, and behave.
One man or a group of individuals make the rules and you must be like them to be a part of their power circle.
What is Power Role?
You need a leader and a follower in any society.
There is no equality in this world.
Equal potential may exist, but we all choose to play a role in this game called life.
Without it, the system would collapse and there will be chaos.
Men will become mere animals reigning havoc on the world.
So a hierarchy must exist for us to live in order.
And your position is determined by how high you are on that ladder of hierarchy.
Why Power Role?
Because the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
People can change and die but an idea is eternal.
The greater good is more powerful than one individual.
So how will you achieve power in your society?
Will it be money? fame? recognition? success?
If you climb the ladder to these 8 areas of positions, you will rise to power in your society.
The 8 Areas of Power in Society
You are an organized and orderly person.
But you also have drive, passion, creativity, confidence and strong will.
Persuasion, knowledge of human needs, and stubbornness allows you to get what you want.
Power comes to you when you make a lot of money.
Money is power and influence to you, and society thinks so too.
Bonus points if you are also a philanthropist.
You are sensitive and creative.
In fact, you may even be quite withdrawn at times.
Mastery of Art gains you recognition and fame.
When you follow what the crowds wants, you will have lots of popularity.
And such popularity will give you power and influence over society.
3. Great specialist
You are a professional in your well-respected field.
Think doctors, lawyers, teachers, physicists, dancer, etc.
People admire your skills and what you can do for them.
If you can make their life better, you will gain power.
The only thing is that you need to promote yourself and to sell what you do.
Position yourself so that people know you are a great specialist.
Knowledge is not enough, social influence is the key to a professional success.
4. Charismatic leader
Your way of speech, appearance, and vibe interests others.
Usually you can be in a position of leadership with small communities or religious communities.
You can also be a great speaker and an outgoing person.
Having a way with words, you always know the right things to say.
With this personality, you easily finds people who will lend you an ear.
Such charisma wins you power with less effort.
You are physical and a master at what you do.
And likely you want to be the best at your chosen sport or physical discipline.
Along with sport, you refine your physical body to incredible strength and appearance.
People admire your looks and believes that a good body means good character.
They will listen to you because you look strong and capable.
Obsessed with your sport, you make it your life.
And life returns to you with fame, glory or recognition.
Such sacrifices requires determination, persistence, and hard work.
7. High decision maker
You are in a position where your decision can affect many people.
Whether you are in government, politics, administration, or the CEO of a company, you are a high decision maker.
With little time on your hands, you let others do the work for you.
It’s hard to get a reach of you unless they are as important as yourself.
By being in this position, you make others think that your time is important and so are you.
If you impact society, the better your position of power.
8. Powerful friends
The last is if you are neither of these.
You can always have powerful and influential friends who are willing to help you.
These associations will give you a piggyback ride.
If you helped them in the past, they will gladly return to the you the same gratitude.
Your Position is Mental Strength
The secret is that no matter who you are, where you are, or what you have, position of power comes from mental strength.
Most people caged themselves in their mental cell as they live by the rules of society.
They sacrifice their integrity to fit in with a social construct.
But you can always go higher by understanding their rules and play the same game.
To be an engineer is to act like them, speak their language, and understand their customs and works.
The same is said in the society of musicians, doctors, cults and communities.
Each society is a game with strengths and weaknesses.
In order to win, you need to have social skills and intertwine with those societies.
Don’t expect others to conform to you.
But you can change your inner mind to affect the outer world.
Everything starts inside your mind and how you react to your environment.
Develop Your Power in Society
If you are not happy with where you are in society, learn the system and use it as an advantage.
The first thing is to understand where you are in society.
Who are you? What do you do?
Do you fit in one of 8 categories of power positions in society?
And then develop your strong suits.
Here is a question to find your strength: What makes you FEEL important?
The thing that makes you feel important is what defines your “social worth”.
Forget your weaknesses. We all have weaknesses.
Developing your weaknesses will not gain you power, it will only make you better than the average.
The only time it is useful is if it enhances your strengths.
So if you are a doctor but you want more influence, develop business acumen or charisma in your life.
- Find your strength or passion
- Forget your weakness unless it’s needed for strength
- Develop your preference
The only thing you need is a strong mind and the persistence to dream big.
If you don’t have that ambition, then you can find happiness in the smaller things (which is okay).
Lastly, do you have any heroes?
Look to your heroes or people you want to be and admire?
Find the people who you want to be and study them.
Study and learn their skills and even some of their habits.
You must decide who you want to be and be certain of that role.
If you don’t make a clear decision, others will choose for you.
Though people may wish to treat others equally, the majority are subconsciously judging your place in society.
Like pets, they will either see you as the alpha leader, colleague but non-threatening, or someone to boss around.
You don’t want your pet to control your life.
So why allow others to dictate how to think, behave, and live?
Let Spirit Be Your Guide
Knowing this, the idea is not to let society play you like a trumpet.
Don’t be led by the rules of others and the power struggle they create themselves.
Power comes from the clarity of who you are.
This is not only personal but also in your relationship, workplace, spiritual life, etc.
Move with decisiveness and positive self esteem.
Let your intuition and spiritual life guide you not away from societal problems but to overcome them.
Take responsibility for your life. You have the power to make a change.
You can either quit and whine or play the game.
If you live in a society, you’ve got no choice but to play the game.
So play it well. The journey will be worth it.
