The 3 Types of Energy
There are 3 types of energy that all energy work is based on.
If we are going to work with energy, it is strongly recommended to know what kind of energy we are using.
All Energy is One Energy
Now keep in mind that even though these 3 energy types are different, they all come from one source.
All energy comes from Source because energy is the thing the universe is made of.
But what makes some energy different than others is how we go about it.
Some methods are preferable to a certain emphasis in outcome.
Below I give what the method means, how to use it, and any variations from that method.
Here I lay out the pros and cons of each one.
What is Chi Method?
Chi, Ki, mana energy = a method of creating energy from your internal energy.
Chi energy is what I would call “physical energy” or the energy used for material and physical purposes.
Chi is often used for the human body by the human body.
Although it is spiritual essence, the use of spiritual essence is brought in to do something to the human body.
In martial arts, chi enhances the movement flow. In eastern medicines, it enhances body health.
How to Use Chi?
To use chi energy is to first bring forth energy into the body, and then projecting it to our desired focus.
One does this by becoming passive and basically doing nothing.
As Dynamo Jack, the popular name given to the man who shows chi powers in a documentary, have said, “the key is in the yin energy.”
You get yin energy when you do absolutely nothing!
By doing nothing, you are passive enough to receive the spiritual essence under meditation.
Using the breath, we take control of the receiving energy and put it in our body through breathing down to the solar plexus, the center of gravity, the dan tien.
Pros and Cons of Chi
- Immediate access of energy whenever you want
- You strengthen your body and health and awareness
- Extremely powerful
- You have to store a lot, and can take a long time in practice
- It’s harder to use it
- You’ll more likely need a mentor to help you
Variations of Chi Energy
Chi energy is used primarily for internal energy.
This means that the energy comes from inside the body projected outside.
Jing energy = compressing energy into a more visible, physical effect.
It is one of the three treasures of the daoist tradition.
When enough chi energy is compressed, it compacts into jing.
While chi energy is subtle, jing energy can affect the physical world.
This is the basis of our functioning body. Without it, we don’t live.
Jing comes from your parents and each person has a finite amount.
You can say, it is your “gene energy” or “DNA energy”.
In theology, Jing would correspond to the Vital body of Man.
The body of vitality is what I would term “the person’s Health Point (HP)”, where zero = death.
Since I define chi to be a form of internal energy, spiritual alchemy is a use of chi because it involves the use of internal energy.
Spiritual alchemy is using energy to transform the inner self.
From the emotional aspects to the mental aspects, we can shift and transmute certain emotions and thoughts into another.
The ancient eastern practices use spiritual alchemy to transmute their negative part of themselves into more loving and pure self in order to attain enlightenment.
Chakras are used in internal energy work because the chakras are in the astral body of Man.
These spinning lotuses are energy centers of the inner body.
Therefore, chakras are outputs of Chi energy.
Like acupuncture points, each point has a specific function.
But when congregated together, it forms one center point as an output.
The human astral body has 7 major chakra centers, each with a purpose.
By knowing the chakras, Man is able to use chi energy to power up aspects in which he wishes to project.
What is Psi Method?
Psi energy = a method of creating spontaneous energy, ambient energy or mental energy
This is where all the psychic powers come from.
Psi energy deals with the astral and mental energies.
It also deals with any energy that is outside of you.
This includes the energy of trees, the sun, and people.
One would think of telepathy, empathy, and other psychic phenomena.
How to use Psi Energy?
To use psi energy, all one need is to focus on an intent and imagine the outcome under an altered state of consciousness.
While chi energy projects a spiritual energy ball from his dan tien, psi energy imagines the ball already there on the palms and feel the energy form spontaneously.
Pros and Cons of Psi Energy
- Easier and Faster to Access
- You get to use energy from outside of you
- Directly influence emotional and mental level
- You must be in the right state of consciousness at all time
- You need to have strong Will and Focus
- Powers vary depending on environment and mental focus
Variations of Psi Energy
Psi energy affects the emotions and mind, including social energy.
Elemental energy = ambient energy in the environment that connects with elemental natures.
These are what created the Earth (Not the Universe) and also what Man is made to have.
One must be in the state of consciousness and become One with the elemental qualities.
Earth, Water, Fire and Air are conscious beings that moves and give life.
Everyone likes those who are the same as them, including the elemental natures.
Think of them as conscious beings and treat them as such.
Be like them, like how you admire your favorite stars, by following and copying their qualities.
You work with a connection to nature and become one with it.
You make friends and relationship to plants, trees or winds, fire, water as according to their element.
And yes, plants and trees are as alive just as much as winds, fire, and water.
You become the quality for the element so you can move and be the elements.
By being the element, you have all the powers of the elements as well.
This energy is the ‘vibe’ that you get.
It is also linked with sexual energy.
When I speak about social energy, I do not mean good manners or acceptable behavior.
Social energy directly affects the vibe field.
Thus, you can live in another part of the world with different cultures and people universally will be able to affect others by their vibe.
One can influence others socially or attract others by just walking in the room.
Although this is social energy, it is more like “Astral energy” or “Emotional energy”.
But since it is mostly used for social cases, I will keep the name.
What is Spiritual Energy?
While the 2 types of energy above can be harnessed through practice, spiritual energy can only be given.
Chi energy brings it into the center of the body before use.
Psi energy brings in the ambient environment before use.
Spiritual Energy is said to be the direct source of energy.
The daoist tradition has coined this as “Shen”, which means “Spirit”.
The quality of this energy is akin to a peaceful presence.
How to use Spiritual Energy
The man with spiritual energy, who is on the path to enlightenment, can use both the powers of chi energy and the psi energy without needing to practice.
It is why the Siddhi powers are said to be a reflection of one’s path to enlightenment.
Aspiring for enlightenment with a quality of thoughts and intention lead to the presence of spiritual energy.
Pros and Cons of Spiritual Energy
- Both chi and psi energy without effort
- Path to Enlightenment
- Happiness and Peace and Clarity
- More spiritually connected
- It’s not easy
- You don’t want to use any power
Energy is Energy, The Types Interchangeable
Although I define Chi energy as internal and Psi as external, due to their emphasis, strengthening one type can also strengthen the other.
Practicing psi energy can allow you to become more sensitive to feel. This sensitivity to feel can allow you to feel your chi energy.
Some psi energy work uses a cycling method of energy in the body to build up chi and release their psychic ability.
You might be drawn to one type or the other, or both.
In the end, it is all about understanding that internal energy and external energy works differently.
And direct spiritual energy is on a whole other level.
